Gas Gangrene Complex 100ml
A combination of formalinised aluminium hydroxide gel adsorbed toxoids of Clostridium chauvoei, Cl. novyi A and Cl. septicum for the immunisation of cattle, sheep and goats against gas gangrene complex
No withdrawal period after vaccination, is prescribed. Vaccinate healthy animals only. Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals. Do not inject intramuscularly. Use entire contents when opened or discard any unused vaccine. Do not store containers for future use.
Do not mix this vaccine with other vaccines. Although this vaccine has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons.
If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder. Ensure that vaccination equipment (needles, syringes etc.) are clean and sterile prior to use. Observe aseptic precautions.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Use only as directed.
Animals may be inoculated at any age from 2 weeks depending on circumstances and the incidence of the disease. Each animal should receive 2 initial subcutaneous injections with an interval of 4 weeks and subsequently a single yearly booster injection. Sterilise syringes and needles by boiling in water for at least 15 minutes. Do not use disinfectants or methylated spirits for sterilising either syringes or needles. Use a separate sterile needle
for each animal. Shake the bottle well before use and frequently during application. Avoid exposure to high temperatures and direct sunlight during inoculation.
Cattle: 5 ml subcutaneously
Sheep and goats: 2 ml subcutaneously
EFFECTS OF THE VACCINE:
Though there is practically no reaction following the administration of the vaccine, small swellings may occur at the site of inoculation. Complete immunity is effected about 2 weeks after the second injection and provides protection for 9 to 12 months but cannot be guaranteed in all animals.
Store the vaccine at a temperature of 4 ˚C to 8 ˚C, in a refrigerator. Do not use the vaccine after the expiry date printed on the bottle.
