Water-soluble, granular larvacide that prevents fly and mosquito larval development in breeding sites
Composition: Cyromazine (triazine) 20 g/kg
Directions for use: Use only as directed.
Compatibility: Do not mix with any other insecticide.
Neporex® prevents the development of fly and mosquito larvae in breeding sites. It has no effect on adult insects and the reduction in adult numbers is therefore gradual.
Neporex® must be applied as early in the breeding season as possible to avoid the build-up of large numbers of adult insects.
Flies: Neporex® is applied by spreading, sprinkling, or spraying onto the fly breeding sites. Treat manure, refuse and compost heaps, dung pits, slurry and dung channels or soiled litter. Apply treatment at 14-day intervals until control is achieved. Where adult flies from outside migrate into animal units, adult fly control should be practised.
Poultry units with dung pits: Treat the whole dung area evenly. First treatment: Ideally when the dung is less than 10 cm deep. Second treatment: Fortnight later. A third treatment may be necessary if the first treatment was made on deep dung.
Pig units with slatted floors: Fully slatted floors: Treat the whole floor area. For all-in-all-out systems, treat empty unit between batches. Other systems: treat when necessary. Partly slatted floors: Treat whole of slatted area and other areas where dung and waste accumulate.
Manure and refuse heaps: Treat regularly as new material is added.
Calf-fattening, dairies, feedlots and horse stables: The fly breeding sites are to be found along the walls and around and under installations, where the bedding and manure are not compacted by the animals.
Treat approximately 50 cm wide strips evenly in these sites.
Neporex® needed for 10 m2 of surface area:
• Wet surfaces: 250 g dry granules scattered.
• Dry surfaces: Watering can - 250 g dissolved into 10 L water; sprayer - 250 g dissolved into 1 to 4 L of water.
Mosquitoes: Treat all breeding sites, including ponds, stagnant pools, swamps, marshes, puddles and other standing water. Sprinkle Neporex® granules evenly over the water surface at a rate of 50 g/1000 L water. Repeat treatment every 8 weeks or at the first sign of breeding activity.
